OUR APPROACH Home

What to Expect

While every relationship is different, the process for becoming a client was designed with you in mind. It is our commitment to you that we will never pressure you into making a decision you aren’t comfortable making and as a fee-only advisor, we will never sell you a product you don’t need.

Initial Meeting
You will meet with a Haberer private client advisor and learn about the services Haberer offers. During this process we will get to know you and answer any questions you may have. There is no pressure and no sales gimmick. We will simply help determine if there is a good fit between your needs and Haberer.

2nd Meeting
Once you decide that Haberer is the place for you, we will set up a second meeting to fill out the necessary paperwork which includes (but is not limited to) the advisory agreement, the investment policy statement and custodial account setup forms. During this meeting you will be required to provide statements of your current accounts you wish to have Haberer manage. In addition you will be provided a wealth management questionnaire that will be used to help create a plan for success.

Transfer of Assets
Over the next month your client service specialist will work to ensure that all of your assets are accurately transferred to your new custodian. During this time your Haberer client manager will be in touch weekly to update you of the progress in transferring your assets and to answer any questions you may have.

3rd Meeting
Once the assets are transferred to your new custodial account you will meet with your Haberer client manager to discuss the investment strategy and plan. During this meeting we will provide you with a financial projection (contingent upon the completion of the wealth management questionnaire) and talk to you about any personal considerations that may be necessary, i.e. monthly distribution schedule, stocks you never want to buy or sell, etc.

Positioning of the Account
Over the next three to six months your Haberer client manager, in coordination with the portfolio manager, will buy and/or sell securities in your account to bring it into conformance with the investment policy statement and the investment strategy that had been agreed upon previously.

Follow-up Meetings
To a large extent the amount of communication regarding your portfolio is up to you. We understand our clients are busy and many hire Haberer so they don’t have to take the time to do it themselves. With this in mind, we will meet with you as frequently or as little as you desire. Most clients meet with us twice a year, although we would be more than happy to meet with you quarterly until you become comfortable with the process.

Haberer Client Statements
You will receive a quarterly statement from Haberer detailing your holdings and transactions for the period. Additionally, you will receive a year-end gain/loss statement in February of each year.
